The presidents of Afghanistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan have signed a memorandum of understanding for the construction of a railway line linking the three countries. Signature of the document took place in Ashgabat. Construction is scheduled to begin in July in Turkmenistan. A 75-kilometer line from Afghanistan to Uzbekistan, started work in late 2011. Afghan president and one of Tajikistan, are scheduled to take part in the festivities that will take place in Ashgabat today, along with the president of Pakistan and Iran.
