Ashton to tërheqjesPërfaqësuesja higher for EU foreign policy, Catherine Ashton has warned it may withdraw next year from this task. Speaking during a roundtable in Brussels, Ashton said she feels exhausted by numerous trips and can not stand a second term. This Ashton's decision comes after the declaration of the European Council president, Herman van Rompuy, who announced that he would retire from politics in 2014. Baroness Ashton is currently mediating prime ministers level dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia. According to international media, NATO Secretary General, Anders Fogh Rasmussen is seen as its successor.
