Kicks off Ashta hydropower


Nis nga puna hidrocentrali i AshtësThree years from the start of construction, Ashta hydropower plant began producing electricity at full capacity.

After a period of several months of tests, the Ministry of Economy has officially authorized putting in full to the power plant, which will produce about 240 million kilowatt hours per year.

Ashta, becomes the first works hydro, large scale built after the fall of the communist regime.

Last hydropower was the Koman built in 1986, to Drin kasadën. Ashta is a joint investment of two Austrian companies, "Verbund" and "EVN". The value of the investment is estimated at about 200 million euros and this plant is estimated that it will produce energy for 100 thousand Albanian families.
